“I liken photography to music.”

Ted Linczak M. Photog.Cr, along with his wife Rachel Bevins Linczak M. Photog.Cr., are the owners and photographers of Linczak Photography and Nuvo Images. After meeting at Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, OH, the couple got married in 2006 and quickly began their journey into the world of professional photography. Up to that point, Ted had studied business in college, and no intention of beginning an artistic career. At the suggestion of following in her parent’s footsteps, Rachel introduced Ted to the world of wedding photography, and the idea of starting a photography studio blossomed shortly after they married. Upon starting Linczak Photography in August of 2006, they rapidly became one of the most sought after photography studios in Northeast Ohio, and in 2012 expanded their market reach with the Nuvo Images brand in Charleston, SC.

Ted’s style is glamorous and combines high fashion photography with photojournalism to display relationships and connections between his subjects. His instincts lead him off the beaten path as he continuously challenges himself to not only stay current in the field of wedding photography but also create new trends and set new precedents. Ted’s goal in education is to teach photographers the fundamentals of dynamic composition and lighting techniques, as well as capturing the decisive moment. His ultimate goal is getting photographers back in touch with the craft of impactful image making.

Ted has been an active member of the Professional Photographers of America since 2012, as well as several state and local associations in both Ohio and South Carolina. Ted and Rachel both received their Masters of Photography and Craftsman degrees from the PPA in 2015. Ted has also been participant in both international and state and local print competition since late 2011, winning the overall Grand Imaging Award from PPA in 2016 for his album “1863”, which also was awarded the Gold Medallion Award by the American Society of Photographers. Ted was named Ohio Photographer of the Year for 2017 and 2015, and was also named South Carolina Master Photographer of the Year for the same years. Ted and Rachel have had their wedding albums finish in the top 3 at PPA’s Grand Imaging Awards in 2014 and 2015, and 2017 (3rd in 2015, 2nd in 2014 ), earning the 1st place Grand Imaging Award in the wedding album category in January 2017. In January of 2018, Ted was awarded the 1st Place Grand Imaging Award in the Non-Event Album category for this album “Portraits of the Reich”. In February of 2016, Ted was awarded the Canon Par Excellence Award at the SEPPA Print Competition.

Ted and Rachel currently live in Charleston, SC. They photograph 30-40 weddings a year, as well a steady amount of family portraits.

“In the end, we have to make money.”
